_____ Hamsa Collection

The symbol as aesthetic

An ancient symbol with Middle Eastern origins, the Hand of Fatima was born within Islamic tradition, where it is known as Hamsa, from the number five, like the fingers of the hand.

Over time, this symbol of protection has crossed different cultures and religions, from the Arab world to the Jewish tradition, and was later adopted in Western culture as a talisman against negative energies and as a symbol of strength, fertility and protection.

In nianì, the Hand of Fatima is interpreted as a symbol of protection and feminine power.

When facing upwards, it is like a shield: it protects inner space and keeps away what is not needed.
When facing downwards, it is a hand that protects and speaks of fertility, abundance, cyclicity and feminine power, a gesture that welcomes, offers and carries blessing.

At the centre of the palm, an eye: a symbol of inner vision, of a gaze that goes beyond appearances.
A small set zircon, like a luminous pupil, intensifies its meaning and becomes the point of light of the talisman.
